Itinerary

1

Yangon Arrival

Yangon Airport to Yangon city centre (20 km): 30 – 60 mins

Receive a VIP welcome at the airport and go through immigration procedures with the help of the tour guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and some personal time to freshen up or relax.

Proceed to lunch at the Strand Café, an establishment from colonial times with a distinguished history.

A private elephant coach awaits for a ride through the colonial city centre and its many cultural delights. Travel past faded colonial buildings, busy street markets, and glittering temples. Stop by a local tea shop to witness the local life and customs in Yangon.

After tea, explore the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most iconic and revered Buddhist temple. Gilded with gold leaf, the 8-sided central stupa is almost 100-meters-tall and surrounded by 64 lesser stupa. The guide will explain the intricacies of the pagoda complex and explain why the temple is so revered among locals.

Enjoy a cocktail on board the private Elephant Coach and switch to a trishaw which is a unique local ride. Cruise past famous sites such as St. Mary’s Church, The Secretariat, and other colonial buildings. Turn along Pansodan Street to the entrance of Pansuriya Restaurant. The place part restaurant, part art gallery and part antique store. Here, guests are encouraged to browse the wares while the evening’s first course is prepared. Choose from homemade fish crackers, a variety of soups, and traditional Burmese salads.

Continue the next course at the multi-award-winning Monsoon Restaurant. This is one of the most well-known restaurants in Yangon serving delicious Southeast Asian cuisine. Enjoy a main course of Burmese curry, a choice of meat served in a mild curry sauce, accompanied by steamed rice and a mix of local condiments.

For the final course, head over to Rangoon Tea Shop which has a modern take on the classic corner tea shop. Choose between locally-influenced items such as the chai cheesecake or a much more traditional dessert like falooda which is a sweet and cold drink consisting of ice-cream, milk, syrup, and tapioca pearls.
