Itinerary

Hanoi - Ha Giang
Estimation distance & transfer: 280 km, around 7 hours transfer
Depart Hanoi for the 7-hour drive to Ha Giang. Leave the Red River Delta scenery behind and observe how the landscape changes while arriving to the mountains of northern Vietnam. Arrive in the town of Tuyen Quang around noon and have a simple Vietnamese style lunch in a local restaurant. After the meal continue to the stunning Hoang Su Phi area which is one of the most remote areas in Vietnam offering breathtaking scenery and colorful hill tribe life.
On arrival in Hoang Su Phi check into the Lodge, freshen up, and then take an afternoon’s walk through the rice terraces surrounding the lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Hoang Su Phi.

Nam Hong – Giang Ha – Giang Thuong – Phin Ho (16km, 6-hours trekking)
Early morning start on a 16 km day trek to the local hill tribe village of Phin Ho which is well-known in the area for its specialty herbal teas which are grown from local medicinal herbs. Pass through a breathtaking scenery of rice terraces and Red Dao hill tribe villages.
Lunch at Giang Ha, a Red Dao hill tribe village, during the meal get a chance to learn more on indigenous culture in Vietnam.
Continue through lush valleys surrounded by high mountains and remote villages – as well as the Red Dao the Black Dao hill tribe groups who can be met along the way during the trek.
In the late afternoon arrive at the village of Phin Ho. Life here is simple and largely untouched by the modern influence of the outside world but the friendly locals will make one feel right at home.
(The home stay accommodation consists of simple curtained-off sleeping areas in one long room; all bedding and mosquito nets are provided).
Dinner and overnight in a homestay.

Phin Ho - Hoang Su Phi (9 km, 3-hours trekking)
After a simple breakfast continue trekking back towards Hoang Su Phi. The remaining distance of the trek is 9km passing through Black Tay hill tribe villages. Arrive at the lodge by lunch time.
Lunch and the rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner and overnight at Hoang Su Phi.

Hoang Su Phi - Hanoi
Estimation distance & transfer: 280 km, around 7 hours transfer
Following breakfast check out before the return drive to Hanoi. En-route back to the capital, enjoy a Vietnamese lunch in a local restaurant. Arrive back in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
