Bangkok

Breakfast at the hotel. Go behind the scenes for a closer look at Buddhist culture. Start the morning with a trip to Wat Pho, arguably Bangkok’s most enchanting temple. Arrive just as the resident monks gather for their morning chants. Witness this deeply spiritual ritual and gain a better sense of Thailand’s Buddhist heritage.

After the chants, take a walk around Wat Pho and see the vast collection of religious treasures on display. Admire the famed reclining Buddha image, which stretches 45-metres in length. Learn about the symbolism of the Buddha’s intricate footprint and witness devotees making offerings to this revered image.

The tour then continues to the nearby Grand Palace, which has served as the seat of Thailand's revered Royal family for more than two centuries. Take a walk around the vast grounds, stopping in to explore the various temples, throne halls and museums within the compound. Visit the Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddhist image in Thailand, and hear about its mysterious origins. (Note: Grand Palace is one of the most popular destinations and is usually a number one must-see place in Bangkok. Not surprisingly, it receives millions of tourists annually. To get the best of your visit and avoid crowds on spot we will allow your guide flexibility to visit the temple either early morning or late afternoon if possible in your itinerary. If you by any means decide that there are too many people for your liking, the guide can bring you to an alternative temple in the area such as Wat Saket or Wat Suthat, this decision needs to be made before entering the Grand Palace.)

Enjoy your Thai set lunch at Supatra River House and then hop on a luxury boat along the Chao Phraya River through Thonburi klongs (canals), see the local life and enjoy a delicious of Thai dessert and canapé served on board. Continue back down the Chao Phraya river and onwards to the hotel.

This evening, explore the flavors, spices and aromas of the city’s Village of Love - the historic Bangrak neighborhood. Experience how the locals live, eat and shop as you take part in unique local food tastings each packed with authentic history and intimate stories of the neighborhood.

Our local experts have hand-picked food that is guaranteed to tickle your taste buds, and their intimate stories of Bangkok and Thailand’s everyday culture will fill your minds with amazement.

Drop off at a beautiful northern Thai-style teak wood house surrounded by a nice, relaxing garden with old trees. The house is beautifully decorated in traditional Lanna style, adorned with scented flowers at every corner, keeping the authentic touch and feel of a Northern Lanna wedding ceremony.

A traditional Lanna style wedding is about to commence so get ready to be dressed in Lanna wedding attire. The morning wedding ceremony starts with a parade of the groom and supporters carrying trays of gifts and flowers. Receive ‘soul enlightenment’ (‘Kwan’ in Thai) for a blessed and happy married life. The head monk leading the private blessing ceremony will perform a tying of the string on the wrists that bind two people as one. End the ceremony by planting a love tree.

Enjoy a cup of coffee while the crew inflates the balloon, watching as the canopy rises gently into the air.

Following a safety briefing from the pilot, climb into the basket. Once everyone is on board the pilot will fire up the burners, release the ropes, and start navigating the balloon into the sky. Soar higher and higher as the sun peeks over the horizon. The gentle breeze will help the pilot fly the balloon over the countryside. Pass fields and rice paddies, see the lush Ping River Valley and dip low over rural Thai villages. Enjoy the solitude of the open skies while soaking up the panoramic views.
