Itinerary

1

Chiang Mai – Mae Ngat

Cycling: Approximately 60 Km Difficulty: Easy Transfer from Bua Thong Falls to Hotel: 20 min

Today is the perfect day to start the mini-multisport Adventure! Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Then, be  met by the guide at the lobby with the bicycles. Load the luggage in the back-up vehicle and begin cycling from the hotel.

Cross the Chiang Mai roads before rush hour starts and enjoy seeing the city wake up. Observe how the scenery changes in just a moment, see the occasional rice paddy fields situated between houses and villagers.

As the ride continues, there will be more abundant rice paddies and fruit orchards while houses become less and less. After a while, we will reach Mae Kuang Dam, a dam made to save water for the farmers in the area. While cycling over the dam ridge stop the lookout point to soak up the sights and enjoy the scenery.

Stop for lunch at a local eatery somewhere along the way today.

Pass the bridge over the dam and cycle for another while before arriving at the end destination today. It’s time to hop-off the bikes for a refreshing swim. Be met by the driver at the ‘Sticky Waterfalls’ and get changed into swimmers before cooling down in the fresh waterfalls made out of a non-sticky limestone which makes it easy and lots of fun to climb up on.

Hike up to the seven coloured natural spring of the waterfall or simply enjoy the area before taking a  short transfer to the hotel.

Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight at Mae Ngat.

2

Mae Ngat – Mae Tang

Transfer from Hotel to Mae Ngat Dam: 10 min Kayaking: Up to 2 hours Cycling: approximately 45 KM Difficulty: Medium

After breakfast, take a short minivan ride to Mae Ngat Dam and hop on the long tail boat for a 20-minute boat ride across the lake to a floating restaurant. Board the kayaks and explore the hidden corners of the lake. With a little luck, spot some wildlife along the way while paddling and enjoying the morning breeze.

Head back to the raft restaurant for a delicious lunch before going to the shore again by long tail boat.

Time to hop on the bikes again which have been prepared beforehand.

While cycling through the beautiful natural scenery, have a stop at Wat Ban Den, a stunning temple amidst the rice fields, famous for locals who travel from far to make merit here.  Cycle throughout the afternoon and arrive at the hotel just in time for dinner and relaxation.

Have an early night in preparation for tomorrow’s trek.

3

Mae Tang – Huay Nam Dung

Transfer from hotel to start point of the trek: 1 hour Trekking: approximately 6 hours Difficulty: Medium/hard

Take a transfer further out today and head up into the mountains of Huay Nam Dung. Load up on some supplies along the way before starting the trek. Start walking through a local hill-tribe village and head into nature. There is about 9 km to cover by foot today, passing several hills, villages and maybe even some wildlife along the way.

Lunch will be in the jungle. As the trek continues, see the stunning views along the way before reaching the final stop of today at a local hill tribe village.

Meet the hosts, help them with cooking or simply have a stroll through the village. Enjoy being in a completely different culture, learning about life and listening to the sounds of nature.

Overnight at homestay.

4

Huay Nam Dung – Chiang Mai

Trekking: approximately 1.5 hours Bamboo rafting: Approximately 2-3 hours Difficulty: Easy

Wake up to the special sounds of nature in a local village high up in the mountains. Enjoy a local breakfast made by the hosts before packing up the bag and start trekking. Today the trek will be easier on the descend down the mountains.

Once down, take a short transfer to the local river and hop onto a bamboo raft for a leisurely float down the river. Depending on the season, the river currents will differ due to rainfall in the preceding weeks. A cruise down the river can be a leisurely float or an exhilarating experience.

Lunch will be taken somewhere along the way today.

After the bamboo rafting ride, head back to Chiang Mai and be brought to the preferred hotel of choice.
