Arrive - Kuala Lumpur

Transfer from Kuala Lumpur airport to Kuala Lumpur Hotel (65km): 1 hour Afternoon City tour: 4 hours Program inclusions: Based on English Speaking Driver only

Meet and Greet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

13.45 Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, receive a warm greeting from the guide and driver and transfer to the hotel for check in.

After freshening up and taking some time to relax, meet with the guide again for the start of an introductory city tour.  Affectionately known as ‘KL’ to locals, Kuala Lumpur is by far the largest city in Malaysia. This tour covers a colourful spectrum of Malaysian architecture, history, cultural heritage, crafts and lifestyle. Visit Thean Hou Temple, the National Monument & Cenotaph.

Stop by the Gate of the King’s Palace, Merdeka Square & Royal Selangor Club in the background. Highlights of the tour include photo-stops at the Petronas Towers, the Moorish-style Railway Building and National Mosque.

After the tour, transfer back to the hotel and either tuck in for the night or head out for a bit of independent exploration of the city’s buzzing nightlife.

Kuala Lumpur, Malacca Tour

Transfer from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca (150km): 2.15 hours each way Program inclusions: Based on English Speaking Guide for sightseeing to Malacca

Breakfast at the hotel.

08.45 After breakfast at the hotel, depart for full-day tour of Malacca’s historical highlights. Malacca is a historical city just a few hours from Kuala Lumpur. With a legacy dating back at least 600 years, from the Malay Sultanates to Portuguese, Dutch and English occupations, there may be no better place in Malaysia to uncover rich and varied historical heritage.

Visit Porta de Santiago, the last-standing ruins of the old Portuguese fort, A Famosa, which was destroyed by the British in 1512. Then check out the ruins of St. Paul’s Church before heading to Dutch Square. Stops will also be made at Stadthuys, Christ Church, Clock Tower and the Queen Victoria Fountain. before heading to the Baba Nyonya Museum to learn about Peranakan culture that is prevalent in Malacca.

Then take a stroll on Jonker Street which has become famous for its collection of antique stores selling strange and wonderful artefacts of a bygone era. Enjoy an authentic Peranakan lunch – a typical local cuisine with Malay and Chinese influences- before ending the tour with a riverboat cruise up the Melaka River. Later in the afternoon, transfer back to Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands

Kuala Lumpur to Batu Caves (16km) 40 mins Batu Caves to Cameron Highlands (210km) 3 hours Program inclusions: Based on English Speaking Driver for Overland Tour

08.45 Meet with the guide and driver and depart on a scenic journey to Cameron Highlands, a ride of around five hours. Stop on the way at Batu Caves, the largest and most important Hindu temple in Malaysia, nestled in the chamber of a large cave atop a stunning limestone mountain.

Pay a visit to the charming town of Tapah before taking the winding uphill road to Cameron Highlands. En route, stop to see Iskandar Waterfall and Orang Asli village, where the original tribal population of Peninsula Malaysia can still be seen. Reach Cameron Highlands in the afternoon and check into the hotel.

Cameron Highlands – Penang Penang

Cameron Highland to Penang (247KM): 3.5 hours En route Bukit Merah (177KM): 2.5 hours Program inclusions: Based on English Speaking Driver for Overland Tour

09.00 After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, head on an overland journey to the Cameron Highlands. Long regarded as a refuge from lowland tropical heat, the area is also renowned for its picturesque scenery. Visit the area’s tea plantations and a tea-processing factory for a look at how local tea is produced. After having a quick but rewarding tour of the cool highlands, head back down to the lowlands for a visit to Bukit Merah. Along the way, stop at a unique Buddhist temple.

After arriving at Bukit Merah, take a boat across the lake to an Island that houses a research centre for orangutans. Have a look at these charming critters before proceeding by car to the island of Penang. Before arriving, stop at the famous Snake Temple for a daring and almost unbelievable temple experience.   

Upon arrival in Penang, check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Penang - Banding

Georgetown Heritage Tour: 4 hours Penang to Banding (168): 3 hours

09.00 After breakfast at the hotel, head out on a tour of the UNESCO Heritage city of Georgetown’s main attractions. Stop at the Thai Temple of the Reclining Buddha and at the Burmese Temple. Then visit Khoo Kongsi, a beautiful Chinese Clan House and the Baba & Nyonya Mansion, a picturesque museum near the beautiful St. George's Anglican Church. Afterwards, head to Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia.

At the conclusion of the city tour, head on a scenic overland ride to Banding, an island of Temenggor Lake on Malaysia’s East Coast. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel there for a night of leisure.

Banding

09.00 After breakfast, depart by boat to search for the elusive rafflesia flower -the largest in the world. Proceed through the “elephants trail” to reach the Salt Lake. Keep an eye out for wildlife, as the area is known to attract animals from far and wide who come to enjoy the mineral deposits of the lake.

Enjoy a packed lunch next to a jungle waterfall, before taking a dip in its refreshing pool. Before heading back to the hotel, stop by a Orang Asli Village for a unique cultural experience.

Banding - Kota Bharu - Departure

Banding to Kota Bharu (174KM): 3 hours

09.00 After Breakfast, depart for Kota Bharu and be dropped off at hotel there or, alternatively, head directly to the airport to catch a flight to the next destination.

With an additional supplement, transfer to Kuala Besut Jetty to Perhentian Island or Merang/Shabandar Jetty to Redang Island.

Notes: The tea plantation is closed to the public on Mondays and during the national holidays.

The excursion to the island of Orangutans may not be possible due to the low level of the water.

The Rafflesia flower in Belum is visible only when in bloom.
