The fishing industry is another main income source. The villages uses the daily catch to produce dry fish and fish paste (Ngapi, seasonal). Although most Westerners turn away from the pungent paste, for Burmese people it is a mouth-watering condiment.

Arrive in Kyauk Wap Pyin Village and take a 25-minute stroll up the mountain to Dawei Peninsula’s own Golden Rock Pagoda. Here enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Dawei River and Grandfather Beach.

After that proceed to Grandfather Beach which is one of the most stunning beaches of the Peninsula. Enjoy some time at leisure on a 4km long stretch of pure white sand. For those who want to see the vastness, there is a chance to rent a motor taxi driver (on own account).
