Discover the most amazing natural phenomenon in Flores. Kelimutu consists of three uniquely colored lakes from brilliant aquamarine, to ochre red and chocolate brown. Over the years, the 3 crater lakes have often changed colors. While a scientific reason for the color changes may be the varying mineral contents of the lakes, local people still strongly believe that the 3 lakes are gathering places of ancestral spirits, each color being related to a different Karma.

Awake early this morning for a full day boat trip in Komodo national park. Breakfast, lunch is served onboard the ship.

On Komodo Island, take a trek to Banunggulung, the river bed where the dragons used to be fed fresh goats. The trek takes you through spectacular scenery and you’ll see many unusual plants and animals en route.

It is estimated that there are around 2,000 dragons on the island, as well as a wide variety of other wildlife such as wild boar, deer and buffalo. The island is also excellent for bird watchers, with cockatoos and gosong birds (megapodius reindwardti), among others.

The terrain on Komodo Island is flat and the flora changes with the seasons, going from dry and dusty with thin vegetation, to lush and green with the scent of wild basil in the air during the wet season.

Lunch will be on board, before arriving at Pantai Merah (Pink Beach), so named because the red coral on the seabed breaks off with the tidal changes and mixes with the sand, causing it to turn a pale pink colour.

Jump overboard and snorkel in the clear waters, where you can see an incredible array of fish including parrotfish, clown fish and, if you are lucky other sea creatures, including turtles. There is plenty of time to swim and snorkel here and to relax on the beach before overnighting on the boat.
