Taipei

After breakfast, be met by the guide and driver at the hotel and be taken to the most well-known spots in Taipei City.

The first stop is one of the most-visited museums in the world – National Palace Museum. This museum houses nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artworks over multiple dynasties. Beside the permanent exhibits, there are temporary exhibits from time to time. The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Chiayi City was established in 2015, aimed to balance cultural resources between north and south of Taiwan.

After lunch (own arrangements), this tour continues with a visit to Dalongdong Cultural and Historical District, including Pao An Temple and Taipei Confucius Temple, which are located next door.

Pao An Temple is a Taiwanese folk temple built in the early 19th century, which also won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation in the year of 2003.

The Taipei Confucius Temple is modelled after the original Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province of China. Among the Confucius temples in Taiwan, Taipei's is the only one adorned with southern Fujian-style ceramic adornments. Every year on September 28, a ceremony with traditional music and stylized dancing is held at the temple in honor of Confucius.

Next, enjoy a nostalgic walk along Dadaocheng Dihua Old Street. This historic area was prospered during the 19th century attributed to the export of Taiwanese tea. Today, the young generations bring diversity of different cultures into this old town, integrate the old and new lifestyle and make it a stunning blend: the hipster coffee shops, the modernised handicraft shops.

After that it’s close to dinner time, visit one of the oldest night markets in Taipei – Ningxia Night Market. Here, there is a great opportunity to have a taste of different types of authentic street foods, such as oyster omelets, minced pork rice, taro cake and many more to fulfill the appetite!

After dinner, be transferred back to the hotel with the guide and driver.

Taipei

After breakfast, be picked up by the guide and driver from the hotel and continue on for discovery of the charming old part of the city and metropolitan area.

Today the first stop is Longshan Temple. Found by the immigrants from Fukien in 1738, this ancient temple was built to dedicate the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy (Kuan-in in Chinese). The most well-known about this temple is that the statue of Kuan-in has survived the bombing during the air raid in 1945.

After that we will take a walk along Wanhua Herb Alley, which is just around the corner from Longshan Temple. It is a small alley with shops that sell all types of herbs for more than 100 years. Do not miss the opportunity to try some Chinese herbal drinks!

Then we will drive past Presidential Office, a baroque-style building built in the 1910s. It is also a symbolic landmark and historical site in Taipei City.

The next stop is Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, an impressive monument in memory of President Chiang Kai-shek. Surrounded by white walls with blue-tiled roof, the park contains an archway, a museum, a square, and a garden.

After lunch (own arrangements), visit the eastern part of Taipei City, also the busiest commercial district in Taiwan. The first stop is Songshan Culture & Creative Park. The park was initially constructed in 1937 as a tobacco factory under the Japanese government. The factory ceased to produce cigarettes in 1998, but in 2001, it was converted it into a park comprising historic sites and urban architecture.

The last stop before dinner is Taipei 101(formally known as 101 Taipei Financial Center Corp.). This skyscraper was once the tallest building in the world, about 508m tall, with an observatory deck on the 88th, 89th and 91st floor. Before dinner, enjoy panoramic night view of the city.

After dinner, be escorted by the tour guide and driver to the hotel.
