Known for its popularity among surfers, party lovers and honeymooners, Bali is equally adept at catering for families. While its southern fringes are known for beaches and slick resorts, the island as a whole offers a wide range of experiences guaranteed to keep even the most restless youngster from being bored.
This journey kicks off in South Bali in the town of Sanur, famous for its wide sandy beach. Here activities include jewelry making and performances of traditional “kecak” fire dance, while a visit to the beautiful cliff top temple of Uluwatu allows opportunities to mingle with a sacred monkey population.
Beaches are only one item on the Bali repertoire and the journey soon moves inland to encompass highlights such as spectacular Mount Batur and the cultural capital of Ubud, which is surrounded by waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes. Other kid-friendly draws such as rafting and snorkeling round out the journey, which concludes in the tourist-friendly hub of Seminyak.
