Golden Island Cottage - Nampan is located on Inle Lake near the village of Nam Pan, close to the Phaung Daw Oo pagoda and other sites. The 10 acre property features stilted bungalows built in local style. It can only be reached by a one hour boat ride from Nyaung Shwe and a further one hour drive to Heho airport.

Why we like it
Owned by a local Pa-oh tribe, this entire complex is stilted over the water and can only be reached by boat. The cottages are fairly basic and could use a bit of an upgrade, but the setting is unbeatable. While most hotels in Inle have lake access, Golden Island Cottages – Nampan is literally on the lake. Their Deluxe rooms offer the better views of the lake and sunset.
Child Policy
– Children under the age of six (6) years old (on the date of arrival) may stay with parents provided he/she stays with existing bedding (without extra bed). Only one (1) child is allowed for one(1) room without charges (breakfast exclude).
– The extra breakfast charges child under 6 years .
