The Monsoon Tea House
- Half Day
You will be picked up at 09:30. This half day program is a discovery of story between aromatic and sustainable tea grown in the northern area of Thailand. A visit to Monsoon Tea house, a comfortable tea house and restaurant which focuses on originality, freshness, and sustainability, around the concept of ‘tea grown in harmony with the forest’.
Sit and relax with the scents of aromatic tea that are freshly brewed and served.
Upon arrival at the Monsoon Tea house, join the tea workshop conducted by the tea expert, Mr. Kenneth Rimdahl, the founder of the tea house. Mr. Rimdahl has started his journey to the world of tea since 1994 and expanded his knowledge by discovering the exclusive wild tea unique to the northern area of Thailand.
He discovered ‘Miang’, fermented tea leaves from the wild. Impressed by its unique flavour, he decided to establish the tea business. With his extensive experience and knowledge in the field, listen to him talk about the history of tea from traditional uses to consumption of tea in Thailand. Be introduced to ‘Miang’, and all the intricate tea-making processes from cultivation, preparation and brewing. Then enjoy the tea tasting while sharing ideas or knowledge with him.
Following the workshop, it is time for lunch, and all dishes are inspired by wild tea and cooked in original recipes. (L)
