Thai Vegetarian Cooking at May Kaidee
- Half Day
You will be picked up at 08:30. Embark on this special gastronomic journey to May Kaidee’s Cooking School. As known to vegetarians and vegans throughout the world, the school offers a Thai vegetarian and vegan cooking class experience for both beginners and experienced chefs alike.
Upon arrival, be introduced to the class by a professional English speaking instructor and meet other fellow students. The first lesson of the day is how to make chilli paste, and here, learn about Thai spices and herbs, native vegetables and fruits, oils and sauces, as well as the key ingredients like lemongrass, galangal and kaffir lime leaves. Following this, start hands-on cooking the well-known Thai recipes like Tom Yum Soup, Isaan Vegetables, Pad Thai, Peanut Sauce, and more. Try putting together raw and cold dishes like fresh spring rolls and papaya salad. Techniques are taught in steps along with discussion, questions and answers during the course. Enjoy the personally-made meal at the end of the course, and as well be served the famous dessert - sticky rice with fresh mango and coconut.
Besides the cooking class, a demonstration of traditional Thai dancing is a feast for the eyes. Be encouraged to partake in the dance.
Return to the hotel early in the afternoon. (L)
