Overview
This tour covers some of the most remarkable sites in Thailand starting off with the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace which served as a complex to Thailand’s old kings. Next, hop on a rice barge and enjoy a private lunch while cruising towards Ayutthaya. Step into the city’s historical temples such as Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Don’t forget to drop by Wat Mahathat where the famous Buddha emerging out of a tree can be found.

Sacred Ayutthaya Rice Barge Lunch Cruise

You will be picked up at 08:30. Depart from the Bangkok hotel in a VIP Ventury van and drive directly to Bang Pa-In, the summer palace built by Rama IV. See the contrasting palace buildings and surrounding temples inspired by European, Chinese and Thai designs. Also, visit Wat Niwet Thammaprawat, the gothic inspired temple located by the banks of the Chao Phraya River. After the visit, board the Thanatharee rice barge at Wat Kasatra pier and enjoy a private lunch cruise on the Chao Phraya River. En route are opportunities to see beautiful views of Wat Chaiwatthanaram and the local lifestyle on the riverside. Ayutthaya, surrounded by river and canal, flourished as the capital of Siam from 1350 until it was attacked by the Burmese in 1767. The remains of the temples and ruins of this great city have now been declared a World Heritage Site. Disembark at Wat Kasatra pier and visit the most important ruined temples in Ayutthaya Historical Park: Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Mahathat (where the Buddha face naturally emerged out of a tree). Return to Bangkok by van. (L)
