Partake in a half-day program either at 09:00 or 13:00 gaining knowledge of Southeast Asia with Asia Expert, Mr. Anthony Zola. Mr. Zola is currently a senior researcher at the Mekong Environment and Resources Institute (MERI) and the board of the Thailand-United States Education Foundation (Fulbright Thailand). Having lived and worked in Thailand and Laos since 1970, Mr. Zola is familiar with the countries of the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS).
He has extensive experience working in the agricultural and economic development field. He also served as the CEO of MIDAS Agronomics from 1985 to 2008, and his work involved resettlement and relocation of rural communities impacted by hydropower investment projects, land reform, land consolidation, agribusiness development etc.
Since 1972, he has worked as a consultant to many international banks with the focus on the development of administration and policy research related to agribusiness, cross-border agriculture trade, contract farming etc. Currently, as a researcher at the MERI, his work focuses on involuntary resettlement, livelihood development, food and nutrition security,and agro-ecology.
