The scenery quickly changes once we cross the river, from the busy streets of Yangon to the quiet countryside of Dala. After visiting the colorful bustling market in Dala, we will have options to ride on the main road for 20 km before riding on the dirt trail or shuttle to a place for about 30 min to avoid riding on main road. Then we will go off-road for the rest of our trip, stopping by a few villages and saying hello to the locals.
On the way to Twante, we will stop at the Snake Temple. The local monks believe that these snakes are reincarnate of previous local monks from the region. There are over 30 Burmese Pythons that inhabit the temple and they roam freely, slithering around the shoulders of Buddha images and in and out of windows. Do not worry though, these pythons are actually vegetarians! The monks feed them a healthy diet of milk and pop-com and they are harmless.
It’s 15 more kilometers to the small fishing town of Twante. En route, we will get different experiences of riding passing through the paddy fields, stream, bamboo forest and villages. Upon arrival Twante, stop for lunch and a cold drink by the river.
Next we will transfer back to Dala jetty by private car. Then we take local ferry boat to across the river and continue cycling until to reach to your hotel in downtown Yangon. (Remark: If clients do not wish to continue cycling towards hotel, there will have supplement for transfer from Yangon jetty.) (L)
