Additionally, there are stupas and other religious buildings including a Buddhist university and several meditation centres.
Enter a meditation centre located amid the forest where the guide will first provide an introduction to meditation. Learn about the deep-rooted beliefs of Myanmar’s predominantly Buddhist population and the role that meditation plays in their daily lives. Then, alongside the guide, learn the traditional techniques of Buddhist meditation. Discover the methods used to control breathing and mantras to help quiet internal thoughts. After this short course, enter one of the centre’s individual niches, an ideal place for meditating. Spend time practicing the techniques, seeking to relax the mind and reconnect with the soul.
